Dia de los Muertos
Saturday, Oct 30th
1oam – 4pm
The talented artist, Marka27, whose work blends street art and pop culture with Mexican and Indigenous aesthetics, is designing a mural to be hosted by City Hall through the end of 2021. The Worcester Ecuadorean artists Jose Criollo and Germán Chiriboga are co-creating a mixed media sculpture and public health storytelling project that will be exhibited at the JMAC. There will be two artistic ofrendas (offerings), both curated by the Mexican immigrant and Ofrenda design expert Mayra Rojas, – one at City Hall and one at Worcester Art Museum. Main IDEA, the youth arts organization directed by one of our steering committee members, is hosting a youth celebration in partnership with the Worcester Public Library. Worcester Art Museum, our fiscal sponsor, will be reopening the Ancient Americas Gallery with some improvements. Learn more about the event here!
